New Proposed Housing Development on Wynyard Park

Stonebridge Homes have announced their proposals for building a further 245 – 3/4/ and five-bedroomed dwellings on Wynyard Park, adjacent to the Avant & Storey Homes developments. Stonebridge Homes and Hedley Planning Services representatives met with Hartlepool and Stockton Parish Council representatives as part of the pre-planning consultation process. The Parish Councils have welcomed the early stage discussions but have clearly outlined concerns to the developers regarding the lack of services (Primary & Secondary schools, on-site GP, NHS dental and Pharmacy provision), amenities (Pub, Restaurants, Shops, and Post Office), facilities (Sports Areas, Woodland Walks, defined Cycle ways and Community meeting venue) on Wynyard Park and generally across the Wynyard community.

Representatives from the Parish Councils raised more detailed queries with Stonebridge Homes regarding their draft proposals, specifically concerning access routes for construction traffic, the need for adequate off-road parking, vehicle access to properties, open green spaces, children’s play areas, access to woodland walks and most importantly the need for a safe pedestrian and cycle crossing over the A689 at the Eastgate roundabout. Stonebridge Homes has taken specific notes of all the points made and has indicated that these will be seriously considered as part of their detailed planning application and in discussions with the Stockton Borough Council Planning department.

As part of the planning pre-consultation process, Stonebridge Homes has already sent details of their draft proposals to many residents and given notice of their public consultation meeting arranged for 26th November 2024 between 15:00 and 18:30 at The Function Room—Billingham Golf Club. While this proposed development falls outside the Wynyard Parish Council (Hartlepool) boundary, we are keen to be involved in the planning process. We would encourage all residents across the Wynyard Community to give feedback on their views and comments at all stages of the planning process.
